Our artistic vision
We want our plays to be
Entertaining. Our interactive murder mysteries are good examples of this: a cast of characters you can only love or hate, a murder on stage, a quirky detective and the chance to interrogate everyone and find out whodunit!
Unashamedly nerdy. We like plays that make you think. Why not learn some science when you go to the theatre? We’re currently writing a sci-fi play and we’ve got a stack of scripts for science-y plays that we’d love to perform.
No generative AI
We do not use generative AI in any of our work, and we never will.
We do not give a damn how “good” generative AI is these days.
We started this theatre group because we like doing theatre stuff, so why would we let some thieving algorithm have all the fun?
We get our ideas the human way: by biking in the rain or chatting over tea or being bored on trains or reading weird Wikipedia articles or rewatching season 2 of Midsomer Murders or just starting with a weird thought and seeing where it leads us. All plot twists, red herrings, character names and clunky bits of dialogue are the result of human creativity. If we get stuck, we go for a walk or talk to our friends until inspiration strikes again.
Our scripts are 100% written by us. Initial ideas and outlines for new plays are scribbled in notebooks. After that we write the script in a bog standard word editor. Then we do multiple rewrites until the story makes sense. We read our scripts with friends and ask for their feedback. Then we do more rewrites.
Our posters are designed by sketching on the backs of envelopes and then drawing a prettier version in Adobe Illustrator (and boy does that software hate me).
Our logo was also made in Adobe Illustrator (by tracing a photo of our cat).
